We came across the Anastasia hotel by chance after losing a previous booking. It turned out to be the best holiday we could have wanted. The accommodation was excellent: a sea view for no extra cost, delicious buffet-style food, especially the Greek meals, a large swimming pool that was open before breakfast, for that early morning swim, a very good range of entertainment every night to cater for a wide variety of tastes, it was close to the beach, the local village, and the local buses into Heraklion. But the best aspect were the staff: they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. They appeared genuinely interested in us. The other guests all felt this and we met some who had stayed at the hotel over a dozen times. We recommend this hotel very highly.
