Every Sunday (except winter) there is a guided tour of Amersham from in front of the Museum, and you can get a combined ticket for Museum and Tour on the day. The tour is quite long, about 1.5 hours, but it gives a fascinating insight to this lovely old town of Amersham, with the Drake family having built the Market House, and their chapel in the Church which you can see if you attend a service. There is also a different walking tour on the Saturday covering the Amersham Lollards and their martyrdom on the hill. The museum itself is in the oldest Hall house in Amersham, which you an explore in about 30 minutes plus the garden down to the River Misbourne. It makes a lovely week-end afternoon outing.
