Walking

My son won this holiday and gave it to us as he didn't have the time to go. It wasn't the type of holiday we usually go on as we have two teenagers and this is an adult only hotel. We were a bit worried as the reviews said it was nearly all old people who went. It was a real hive of activity when we arrived and we had to wait to check in but the staff were really friendly and we weren't long in reaching our room. We were in one of the cheapest rooms but it was large, comfortable and clean with plenty of space for our clothes. We were at the back of the hotel and on the ground floor so had no view which was a bit disappointing. The bathroom was a decent size with a bath and good shower above it. The grounds were very nice with putting, croquet and a few other games. There is a leisure club with pool etc but we didn't use it as we had several outings we wanted to do in the area. We found the food was very nice although sometimes you had to queque for a little while. The hotel was full of old people and I think there were two coach loads of people too. At 51 I think I was by far the youngest guest which seemed a bit strange but everyone seemed friendly. Free WIFI was only available in public areas and although we weren't far from reception it was blocked in the bedroom which I found annoying. The entertainment at night was quite good some nights. There were quizes and activities on throughout the day but again we didn't join in but people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was about a 20 minute walk into Nantwich along a pavement of a busy road but there was plenty of parking if you wanted to drive. Enjoyed our stay but I was shocked at how expensive it was to stay there. People seemed to be booking to return so obviously they thought it was worth it.
