Although I usually choose to stay in hotels when visiting London a friend recommended I try a serviced apartment for a more relaxed and personal experience. I stayed at 51 Kensington Court, a Victorian townhouse converted into 11 self-contained apartments with daily housekeeping and reception service. The apartments are quietly located, spacious, well equipped, tastefully decorated and comfortable with first rate service provided by housekeeping and the friendly reception staff. The location is just about the best I have encountered – literally a few minutes from the wonderful shops and restaurants of Kensington High Street, Kensington Palace and all transport. Knightsbridge, the museums and west end are all easily accessible and within walking distance for the energetic. At the end of a busy day sightseeing or shopping it was such a joy to feel 'at home' relaxing in the apartment, helping myself to food and drink whenever I wanted to. My friend and I stayed in a twin bedded studio apartment at a nightly rate of £165 which was considerably cheaper than many hotels in the area for a much smaller room. I will definitely be returning to 51 Kensington Court when I visit London again and would highly recommend it for quality, service, location and value.
