Reasons for trip

My partner, Pete, was off on a jaunt on the Provident which was not for me! I decided after travelling there from Portsmouth I would stay in / near Brixham and await his return. I stayed at a great Guest House in Churston, just outside Brxham using my Bus Pass to travel about as didn’t think parking in Brixham would be good – they had a Pirate themed weekend going, it was very hot and very busy but great fun.
I did a lot of walking even up to the top of Berry Head (I’m not particularly fit at the moment) where there was a nice little cafe and lots of places to sit on a very warm day.
Brixham itself had plentiful cafes, pubs and entertainment for everyone – I liked the Blue Angel pub! Brixham Fish and Chips shop was good too.
The day Pete was getting to Dartmouth, I caught the steam train there which then takes you to the ferry across to Dartmouth. I wasn’t there too long so didn’t see much until the Provident came in. I went on board and they kindly fed me together with all the crew then Pete decided he had had enough and jumped ship to come back with me to the Guest House for a comfortable bed and delicious breakfast before driving home.
I do like Brixham!
