  98. We’ve got a VW T5 Campervan.

    This time last year we upgraded it by changing the bed to a more versatile one, and added heating to extend our campervanning season.

    Unfortunately last year we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the fruits of our labours, as my Dad got ill in July and subsequently moved into a care home. The rest of the year was spent clearing out and preparing his house for sale to fund his care.

    Dad passed away in January, and his home has now sold.

    He enjoyed hearing about our campervanning adventures, and we’re ready to seize the day and have as many campervan trips as we possibly can this year. This will include a trip to North Wales to lay his ashes with my Mum’s.

    While we may not get abroad this year, we’re looking forward to seeing more of the UK in our warmer, comfier campervan, and living life to the fullest.

    We just need the Great British Weather to be kind to us!!

    1. Hi Eric, when you make it to Vegas it’s well worth a trip to a nearby town called Henderson which is about half an hour’s drive away. There’s a large shopping mall there and everything is half the price of the Vegas shops which are mostly full-price designer shops and little else. Enjoy!

  134. My 80th birthday treat was a trip to Galapagos Islands. My friend & I went with Hurtigruten Adventure cruise . Even with some restricted mobility I was well catered for on excursions. Although we were requested to stay at a distance from animals, they came up to people to investigate us. From a fluffy chick to Iguanas which walked right through the middle of our group and a seal pup tapping on the leg of a wet suited snorkeler on the beach. Was that a “come and play” or” feed me”?
    We saw all the animals and birds you would expect to see on the islands we visited and we saw a penguin a long way from its usual habitat. A wonderful trip.

  149. We’ve just come back from two weeks in Vietnam. A country I’ve always wanted to visit and it didn’t disappoint. We had four bases from Phu Quoc in the south to Hanoi in the north. The people, culture, food and sights will stay with me forever. An organised chaos kind of country, with people so ready to help you, and having an enormous pride in their country and what it has overcome in its history. We made memories to last a lifetime and everything was so ridiculously low cost. It felt very much like Thailand was, back in the early 90’s. Absolutely glorious.

    1. I am really looking forward to a family holiday in July to Cambrils with daughter, son – in – law & 3 year old granddaughter Summer who is the loveliest little girl, beach, swimming pool, ice creams, smiles & laughter, is going to be wonderful.

    1. Can’t wait for the warmer weather, lots of gardening, days out and trips to the South Coast over the summer.

    2. I would like some warm dry weather as I have just joined a group that does local walks – be nice to see local places that I have not seen.

    3. This August we have a cruise booked, so looking forward to be back at sea, the perfect holiday for us!

    4. Any chance of a night away is appealing to us, time in a lovely hotel with a dinner cooked for you and a nice bottle of wine followed by good breakfast.

    5. Oh for the warmer weather to arrive! So looking forward to the garden and holidays to Royal Deeside.
