It was a good job we wanted a late lunch when we stumbled on Tanur Pizzeria as a sign said opening hours were from 2pm to 11pm every day except Monday.
The Pizzeria is situated in a small commercial building in an district surrounded by apartments and so we didn’t have much choice.
However Italian is my favourite cuisine of all time and so I was more than happy as I didn’t have to make a case to go Italian.
We were also lucky as it was quiet and we could chose from any one of the three vacant tables on the pavement and in the sun.
The waitress didn’t speak Spanish but with out basic language skills, we managed to order a bottle of house white.
The menu had a good selection of pizza and we decided that as it was rather late, we’d share a pepperoni pizza.
It was lovely sat in the sun in February, sipping wine and anticipating our pizza.
When it arrived it was a good size (12”) and had an excellent, thin but not too crisp base with lots of lovely topping which we could spice up with a bottle of chilli oil.
In fact it was so relaxing we decided on another bottle of vino blanco but made sure this time we had it with agua con gas.
A few more customers arrived (including a couple of men who left a small sleeping child in the car) but it was very quiet.
Dessert option was either crème caramel or ice cream – no chocolate, so it had to be vanilla with chocolate sauce and squirty cream.
Our bill was a very reasonable €40.
