We stayed at the Premier Inn in Liverpool for two nights as I was involved in an event at Aintree. It was strange being in a hotel in Liverpool as I have previously lived in both Liverpool and Wirral. Our first impressions were not good as there was no parking and the entrance, right next door to Tesco and Home and Bargain was not impressive. Security was good though, you could not get beyond the 2nd floor reception and restuarant without a card for your room.
At reception we were pleasantly surprised, the staff were very welcoming and helpful and we were given a discount voucher for a multi storey car park more or less adjacent . The room was quite a good size with a bathroom with a bath as well as a shower and the bed was really comfortable with excellent good quality cotton sheets. The room only had a view of a flat roof but this was more than made up for by the fact it was the quietest hotel I have stayed in for a long time despite being right in the heart of the city centre. the air conditioning worked and was quiet so they did fulfil their promise of a good nights sleep. Breakfast was really worth waking up to as well – lots of fresh fruit and yoghurt as well as cereal and a cooked breakfast and even veggie sausages for us awkward folk!
Despite all this the cost was only circa £45 a night for the two of us including breakfast and I would definately stay there again.
