We stayed at the Premier Inn York at the beginning of December and were very impressed. It is situated close to the railway station and it is about a ten minute walk to the minster and the city centre. We had a big room on the second floor, it was lovely and warm and had everything that you might need on a short break. There were tea and coffee satchets and you could get more from reception if need be. The room was clean and comfortable with a huge double bed. We chose to have the meal deal for breakfast and our evening meal and this worked out to be really good value. Breakfast was serve yourself from a variety of hot and cold options, but you could also order porridge and one or two other cooked foods that werent amongst the regular choices. You could go back for more as often as you wanted. The food choices for the evening meal deal were on a seperate menu, and although there wasnt a vast number of choices, we still enjoyed our three course meal each night. All the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel has a decent sized car park and we had no problems getting a space although it might be harder in the summer. You pay about £9 each day to park. I would definitely recommend this hotel as an inexpensive place to stay in the city centre of York.
