Reasons for trip

A lovely walk in Kitsilano, Vancouver is along the south shore of English Bay. There are great views across English Bay and, as you look east, to Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver with the mountains in the background. The walking path through Point Grey Road Park takes you right along the coast. There are steps down to the rocky beach if you are so inclined. Otherwise, there is a nice path along the shore line with benches along the way.

The Point Grey Park Site at Trutch Street is on Point Grey Road between Blenheim and Trutch Streets. I was staying with friends in Kitsilano and walked along Point Grey Road towards downtown. This route takes you through a number of parks: Volunteer Park, Margaret Piggot Park, Point Grey Park Site at Stephens Street, Point Grey Park Site at Trafalgar Street, past the Kitsilano Yacht Club and Pool and on to Kitsilano Beach Park and the “Vancouver Maritime Museum”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/attraction/164770-review-vancouver-maritime-museum. There are private homes along the road in-between the parks. In the parks there are interpretive boards outlining the route, the history of the shore, and the birds and water fowl you are likely to see. Once you get to Elsje Point at the Maritime Museum, if you want a change from walking you can hop onto one of the False Creek Ferries and explore some more of what Vancouver has to offer. You can get a hop on hop off day pass ($15 for adults and $11 for concessions). Or, if the weather is nice, you can do what I did, continue walking to “Granville Island”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/attraction/177560.
