Walking up the steps and into a wide welcoming area you are transcended into a world of pearls of all sizes, colours and designs of presentation. The volume of pearls looking at you leaves you in a wonderland of greed and lip-licking lust.
Jersey Pearl’s vision for three generations has been to create and curate wonderful pearl jewellery from the finest freshwater pearls handpicked from each season’s harvest. The lustre and surface quality are highly instrumental in the grading for the designs from simple earrings, bracelets to beautifully detailed necklaces. There is a viewing workshop for those interested in the intricacies of threading and re-stringing and the flagship showroom at St. Ouen boasts its own café/restaurant offering superb meals and snacks.
On display is a copy Princess Diana of Wales iconic pearl dress; absolutely stunning. But the most impressive viewing of all is the magnificent pearl of Lao-tze, found in the Philippines in 1934 in a giant clam shell – now valued at £40 million.
Located in a lovely area of the island it is well worth visiting just for the wander around the showroom alone.
