Being down in Dorset for a few days of walking (and a ride on the Devon Bell, see previous review), my son and I booked Tanglewood Farm in Wareham for 3 nights.
Although rather hidden away it was easy to find and is an actual working farm run by a lovely couple Claire and Paul and their two young children. It is set in a 17 acre pasture and wooded area and I believe there are woodland walks that we could have done but unfortunately did not have the time. Our accommodation was a flat above the farm house with a metal staircase up to the entrance (probably not suitable for disabled guests). I had the bedroom which was very cosy and my son had the sofa bed which he said was comfortable enough. What makes this place special is the thought that Claire has put into everything. If a family was staying here there were books and games and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. We did not ned for anything. My son particularly was impressed with the breakfast platter they left in the fridge for us. Their own eggs, sausages, bacon and tomatoes and mushrooms. There was enough to last us for three breakfasts (yes, I know I am a veggie and would not normally extoll the virtues of home raised pig products but the eggs were delicious!) It was easy to park here and Claire kept in touch to make sure we had no problems. I would definitely recommend it and wish we had been able to spend more time looking round the farm.
