Reasons for trip

For my sons birthday we had a family meal at London’s 02 then I treated them all to tickets to the Star Wars Identities Exhibition which has been running at the 02 since November 18th and ends on September 3rd 2017.

Age wise, we were a mixed bunch, one 67 year old (me), one 50 year old, one 47 year old, one 26 year old, one 23 year old and one 11 year old. When you buy tickets for the exhibition you are given a time slot and this stops the exhibition getting too crowded. It is interactive so you have an ear phone which is activated whenever you stand in front of an exhibit and you also have a wristband which allows you to answer questions and play games throughout the exhibition. Whilst you walk round the exhibition the answers you give accumulate so that at the end of the exhibition your “personal star wars character” is projected onto a screen with your name on it. There are also all the costumes from the Star Wars films and details about how they created some of the “monsters” etc. It is great fun for anyone who has ever enjoyed a Star Wars film but it may be a bit high tech for very young children.

It isn’t cheap but you can find discounted tickets on websites like Time Out. I bought adult tickets for £20 each and the child’s ticket for £10. Quite an expensive trip out but you can spend as long as you like in the exhibition and are not rushed at all.

It is worth going if you have a Star Wars fanatic in the family but, having said that, I also found it really interesting and I am certainly not a big fan of the films.
