Hotel Room Mate Emma in Barcelona is a modern hotel with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. We had an integral room which we knew when booking which wasn't as bad as it sounds. There was a window which looked out onto an interior light well. However, I personally found it difficult not knowing what the weather was like and not having sunshine in the bedroom. The room itself was modern and clean and the bed was very comfortable. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and only a shower room but it was very spacious. The breakfast was ok but we found it expensive for what it was and there were plenty of local eateries. The hotel was a 20 minute walk into the centre which wasn't onerous although it was a gentle climb back. The staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful, we didn't encounter anyone that didn't greet us. The main thing we didn't like was the fact that there was no area to sit outside. My husband described it more as a B&B which is a good description. We did feel that we had to go out and stay out all day as the alternative was to lie on the bed which we didn't want to do. I enjoyed the experience of this hotel but have to be honest and say that I wouldn't stay there again.
