Reasons for trip

We tried a new fish and chip shop in Birkdale, Southport and highly recommend it. It is in Birkdale village, near the station across from the Park Pub. If you are heading towards the beach down Liverpool Road, go across the tracks (Weld Road) and it is down the first right, before the shops.

We ordered four fish (haddock £3.90 each), mushy peas (£0.75 each) and three chips (£1.55 each) but could have easily had enough chips with just two orders as there were plenty. There are a few chairs and tables outside but we picked ours up to go. The menu is quite extensive for a take out, including the usual pies as well as a variety of fish, and even a chip barm. If you don’t want to go into town, it is a good option in the village. The service was efficient and friendly and the shop is shiny and new. There is a restaurant in MarshSide as well.

I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!
