Reasons for trip

We had booked for Afternoon tea at the hotel and were surprised to see a notice saying that there had been a burst water main and they weren’t serving any meals. After talking to the staff they found out that the water had just been restored and they would be able to accommodate us. So we we were shown down to the Residence lounge and were served quite quickly. We had turkey, egg and salmon sandwiches, a couple of scones with jam and cream, small Christmas puddings and a couple of brownies. All in all it turned out well, but could have been a disaster! Well done the Clarendon.
