Astypalaia is not the easiest island to reach, though it has a tiny airport, but it is one of the most perfect Greek island hideaways. Outside of July / August it is peaceful, very beautiful in the four tiny main settlements, and has mostly French and Italian visitors. The 4 villages are very varied, and the bus service good. Accommodation and food are reasonably priced, and the coffee excellent! We went for a few days, stayed ten! Going back next year.
