Adult-only hotels in Greece – from the Greece specialists Simpson Travel

Simpson Travel - Greece

Μόνο οι δυο μας – just the two of us

We’ll certainly be looking for quiet, restful places, with the personal touch, in the future. A chance to treat ourselves, to escape and go back to places we’ve enjoyed in the past, perhaps staying at a different property. Greece is a real favourite for so many of you, with its laid-back atmosphere and tranquillity. All accompanied by the odd braying donkey or crowing cockerel, of course.

Purple Apricot, Paxos

Purple Apricot Hotel, PaxosQuirky and flamboyant, this small hotel, with just eight suites, will be a welcome change after your own four walls! Step through the beautifully carved wooden doors into gardens and a courtyard with a distinctly Moroccan feel. Think sumptuous fabrics, large lanterns for candlelight evenings and a calm luxurious feel, without fussiness. Discreet and professional service adds to the stylish charm, as do the spacious airy bedrooms.  More details

Paxos is reached by ferry from Corfu, so you’ll be far from any hustle and bustle, on an island that boasts pretty coves and water as clear as crystal, enticing you to swim.

Arosmari Hotel, Western Crete

Arosmari Hotel, CreteFor a truly private experience, head to Crete and stay in an absolutely charming hotel in Vamos, a thriving village near Chania. “The concept at Arosmari is a simple one, ten cottages, dotted about a well-tended and thoughtfully laid out a couple of acres, incorporating a Venetian arch and tunnel, a threshing circle, a tiny amphitheatre for summer concerts and a pebble shepherd’s dwelling. A tiny chapel with icons completes the hotel. Stone paths meander through the grounds, past the randomly placed cottages, which are by no means uniform in design or size. The sun is warm on the honey-coloured brick, cats drape themselves lazily across a wall, muted blue front doors are ajar and welcoming.” Jennie Carr loved it when she visited.  More details

White Orchid Hotel, Sivota

White Orchid Hotel, SivotaIn a lesser-known corner of mainland Greece, this hotel has the view everyone wishes for – open blue skies, with picturesque islands in the distance, boats gracefully sailing by and beaches that nature has created to perfection. Glass balconies from the suites and along the terrace are designed to enhance your uninterrupted view of the vista beyond. The furnishings are of superb quality and uncluttered, with relaxation and simplicity in mind.  More details

There are explorations to be had: to the mountains of Zagoria, with traditional village life and the remarkable hanging monasteries of Meteora or the lively town of Sivota itself, if you wish.
