Zen is a Thai Restaurant that sits within a stones throw of everything that is lawful in Durham.
If you throw a stone to the right you will hit the Police Station. Throw it to the left and you will hit the walls of the Crown Court.
If you throw it really hard, you might even scale the walls of the famous Durham Prison.
Our evening began in the ancient and popular Court House Pub on the opposite side of Court Lane off New Elvet in the City.
It’s a popular starting off point for a night out in Durham, and particularly popular for pre Dinner drinks if you’re headed for the Zen.
The Zen Restaurant has built a reputation as one of the nicest places to eat in the city and their Day and Night menu’s is full of Asian/Thai dishes with a different twist and reasonable prices.
The atmosphere is as you would expect in a Restaurant that is packed with customers from the covered patio area at the front to the busy and elegant interior.
