This lovely little cafe and deli is on the Leeds/Liverpool Canal in the town of Parbold. As we approached the cafe, a large group of teenagers walked past us with ice creams so we timed our visit perfectly to miss the rush their visit would have caused. However, there is a window on the side of the cafe so those just purchasing ice cream do not have to go into the cafe. The first room is where you will find the counter and various deli foods to purchase and take out along with a nice display of cakes. We found a table for two in the second room and perused the soup and sandwich menu. I finally decided on a bacon, spinach and tomato toasted sandwich with salad and slaw. It was just the perfect size and the salad and slaw added some variety to the plate. I believe my uncle had an egg salad sandwich. I guess I was too focused on my own lunch. We opted not to try the sweets or ice cream as we knew we were going to Langs of Langton (see other post) for dinner that night.
Although the cafe has chosen a web name, www.yoursistheearth.co.uk, it is not up and running as of writing this post.
