Reasons for trip

I went here earlier in the year, but because your tickets are valid for a year, I was able to go back in December for free.

A visit at Christmastime is an absolute must and is guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit.

I love this museum, but in December it is even more magical than ever, simply because all the period rooms are decorated for Christmas in a style appropriate for the time.
And Kirkgate, the old Victorian street, looks amazing at the time of the year.

And when you’re done, you can get mulled wine and a mince pie in the delightful cafe.

The Castle Museum isn’t just the best museum in York; it’s one of the best museums in the country!
