Wanted low cost, comfortable and well located accommodation , for a short (3 nights) break in Norfolk – so I booked a private room at the Sheringham YHA, for me (silver traveller) and my adult daughter.
It was just right. Sheringham YHA is just about 5 minutes walk from the local train station. where we were welcomed by a staff member and checked in. Internet access is available, “scratch cards” were given with code.
You can be catered for/fed by the friendly YHA staff : breakfast, evening meal and even a packed lunch if needed. Or the big clean, self catering kitchen may be used with all usual equipment available, and a large fridge to store your food.
Our room was basic but warm, clean, quiet and comfortable… not en suite, but the facilities were just a few steps away.
There were lounges to rest in, including a tv room and other quiet rooms, a garden,
and parking places around the hostel.
The other guests were of all ages, from a school party (who we never heard!) to young and older adults. YHA is now for everyone.
The helpful staff added to the good experience; I would heartily recommend YHA as an option to consider for all Silver travellers in UK (and overseas too).
