We stayed at the Ye Old Ferrie Inn in a lovely big room with great views along the River Wye outside and up to Symonds Yat Rock with the flag flying in the top. We thought we were practically in the river we were so near for breakfast! It is a great pub with traditional games room, and good food, and big car park. Great walks along the River Wye to Monmouth were we went for lunch and then back along the other bank (about 10-12 miles depending on how much exploring on Monmouth you do but easy walking by the river and no problem in a day.) The river was quite high when we stayed but still in its banks so the ferry was not operating, but the ferry does go across the Wye from the Inn. There is a Bilbin bridge – quite a scary one otherwise! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was good to chat to the local landlord.
