A ‘modern’ rather than traditional ‘pub grub’ place, serving mostly ‘British’ menu with some more international touches.
My gammon steak with the (butternut squash? chips – a +50p option over normal chips) and other accompaniments was tasty and filling. House red was perfectly acceptable for we (not too fussy) wine drinkers.
M can’t remember what she had and I’ve lost the bill!
It’s a ‘big bar’ atmosphere which was quiet when we had our early evening meal, but I expect it might get more ‘lively’ as the evening wore on. Working visit so no late nights for us!
Noted that different nights had different – and very reasonably priced – special offers for meals (like two for the price of one) and, as the meals and wine was not badly priced in the first place, if the offer suits then it’s a real bargain.
Price of £7.50 average below was for a main only – no starter/pudding.
