We stayed at this hall for a spring treat and it really is a pretty place – the view from the dining room is knockout and our bedroom also had a fine view of the gardens ( makes a change from hotels that give you a view of the car park!). the room was very comfortable with feather quilt on the bed and L'occitone toiletries in the bathroom, the shower was excellent – there was only one downside, the room had been recently redecorated and smelt of paintwork.
The public rooms were all oak panelled and there was a library and an ingleneuk fireplace, very atmostpheric. The evening meal was expensive by my standards ( £27.50 for 3 courses) but quite adventurous in the veggie choices and tasty – my only complaint was that at that price I would expect vegetables to be included not an extra and I don't consider £1.95 for just 6 undercooked chips to be good value! Breakfast was good with a decent choice of cereals, fruit salad, good cooked range but surprisingly no rolls or other bread other than toast.
It was not too well marked so we drove past it a number of times – the new owners are doing a lot of restoration so perhaps signposting is one area they could work on.
