Reasons for trip

I always like to go away for my birthday in October, to catch the last few rays of sun. Turkey is always a good bet! This year we went with my younger son, who hadn’t managed a holiday this year, so the hotel had lots of different boxes to tick!

We managed to book a duplex , which consisted of two separate bedrooms, both en-suite, both with balconies, and both having separate entrances, but both linked by inside staircase. Ideal for independent son, and older parents!

The duplex needed updating to make it a full 5 star experience, but it didn’t worry us!
The main hotel was situated on a hillside, making the views the most gorgeous ever! Lovely views right across the bay to Gumbet. I liked it because it was outside the hustle and bustle of the town, yet still walkable along the beach.

The hotel was all inclusive, so all meals and drinks were included. The food in the smaller restaurants were much better than the larger buffet restaurant. The Turkish restaurant was wonderful. The views again from all restaurants were very special.
There were fresh oranges to be juiced for breakfast, which I enjoyed, but no English fry up for my son! Lol! The solution ( if you were really desperate!) just walk down the beach to little cafes who obliged!

The hotel had a small beach but our favourite part was a wooden pier which went out to sea, and had sun beds which were in the shade. You could swim off the pier by climbing down a ladder into the water.

My son enjoys swimming pools, and we sometimes used the hotel pool which was large and deep.

There were lots of bars where drinks were served all day , and one which was located in reception, all night!

Wonderful cakes and ice cream were served in a lovely part of the hotel again lots of tables and chairs for you to use to enjoy the views.

There was live entertainment each evening to appeal to all ages.

It was a lovely place to stay. Lots to do and see in the immediate area. We took a full day gullet boat tour, it was walkable from our hotel. Bodrum was a 10 minute taxi drive away, and very cheap in the taxi.

This hotel certainly ticked all of our boxes. I do think however if you have mobility problems, it wouldn’t be suitable because of the very hilly location!
