Reasons for trip

Local orchestra Worthing Symphony Orchestra had a concert to celebrate RAF centenary with Jess Gillam a runner up in the BBC Young Musicians final 2016 as a soloist performing Barbara Thompson’s saxophone concerto. It was a wonderful concert, as the Assembly Hall has excellent acoustics, it has been used for BBC 2 Friday night is Music Night in the past.

Lovely intimate venue – Grade 11 listed Art Deco building, sitting in the back rows which were the cheapest seats at £19.00, it still affords good view of the stage and the sound is still superb.

Has a wide range of concerts popular music, comedy as well as classical music by the their local orchestras Worthing Philharmonic and Symphony.

I was visiting on a week’s holiday and this concert was a highlight as it was a wet miserable Sunday afternoon and the music was uplifting and memorable.
