Walking

The Worms Head Hotel has become a favourite place to stay for us. The views from the hotel are some of the most stunning in the UK, and even if the weather is bad, the views from the rooms are amazing. The hotel has a live web cam over Rhossili Bay, so you can check this out to see what I mean!

Over the winter, the hotel offers bargain stays – £85 per couple for dinner, B&B; basically you get £15 towards the cost of your evening meal. You can choose whether you eat in the bar or the restaurant. The bar is warm and friendly, but slightly dominated by a large tv. The food is always good, and the staff friendly and efficient. Rooms are comfy and warm.

If the weather is good, you can walk to the Worms Head (the small but spectacular tidal island a mile or so from the hotel) or along the beach to Llangennith, and back along the ridge of Rhossili Down – or vice versa. There is a cafe at Llangennith, but best to check their site for opening times as they vary in winter. If the weather is poor, the Gower Heritage Centre is worth a visit – it's wonderfully quirky!
