This is a beautiful stone building just off the A1 south of Grantham where Isaac Newton was born. He did most of his work on gravity and light while he lived here. There is a small orchard next to the house with the famous apple tree.
The house is beautifully furnished with period furniture and staff are knowledgeable and helpful.
There is a hands on Discovery Centre in the large barn which is great for the children to learn about pendulums, gravity, light. There is a small cafe area in the building for the adults to have a cup of tea while the children play (and hopefully learn at the same time).
There is a small activity area in the cow shed which also has a short video on the history of the house.
This was very much a flying visit as we were checking on suitability for taking Grandson.
Easton Walled Garden and Ellys Manor House are close by and can be combined with this to make an enjoyable day out (see separate reviews).
