My husband is a member of Woodbury park golf club, and we frequently treat ourselves to a meal here. Its position, high up on Woodbury common is second to none, with amazing views over the country side to the estuary beyond. Just sitting and admiring the views is a tonic in itself!
The food in the atrium is very good. They always have a specials board with locally caught fish, as well as a large selection of other dishes on the menu. My husband had seabass, this was served on a bed of fresh vegetables, and I had a rump steak which was cooked to perfection. This was served with mushrooms, onion rings, tomato and thickly cut chips. The meal was delicious, and just the right quantity. We couldn’t resist the puddings either! We chose sticky ginger pudding served with clotted cream and icecream, and also Eton mess.
The staff were polite and attentive, and it was a really enjoyable experience.
Even if you just choose a sandwich, and you sit outside on the terrace, you will feel revigorated, watching the golfers on the eighteenth hole attempt to smash their golf balls over the lake and onto the green beyond.
It’s certainly a gorgeous place to be!
