Reasons for trip

Relaxation/Wellness

I have just had an amazing week experiencing fun in the snow as a non skier! This area has many suitable walking paths for winter walking, provided you are equipped with good walking boots and poles. The area, although surrounded by mountains, has many lakes and is known as the Austrian Lake District. It is very popular in Summer but in Winter it is quieter but incredibly beautiful, especially when there is snow. Not as many places are open, but if you enjoy scenery and walking it is great. I have tried snowshoeing as there are hire outlets and also guided snowshoe walks available. There are also lessons in cross country skiing but that would have been too strenuous for me! A real highlight was the Zwolferhorn Cable Car ride where you can do an 90 minute round walk from the top station in walkingboots or with grippers attached. The views of the surrounding alps are amazing!
There are plenty of family run hotels with excellent food in the area. My stay was booked through Inntravel.
