This is a relatively new venue where Let Them Eat Cake used to be in Stratford, Ontario. Gone is the bakery with all manner of cakes to tempt you. The menu is fairly basic for a family style restaurant. The service is friendly and prompt – although we were there mid-afternoon for a late lunch so they were not exactly rushed off their feet. My sister had the cheese and broccoli soup that was not as thick as she was expecting but still tasty with two different cheeses and she had a small Caesar salad with chicken that was very moist. I had the western sandwich – an omelet which was full of huge chunks of ham and onions. It came with shredded potatoes which were a mixture of soggy and crunchy and a change from the usual fries. It was also served with an apple relish – basically pieces of apple with cinnamon. My sister enjoyed some of the relish but it was too sweet for me with my meal. It is more something that I would serve on pancakes but they seem to serve it with many of their dishes.
With all the food options in Stratford it may take some time to get around to this restaurant again but I would give it another try.
