“Wich is Wich”:http://wichiswich.ca is a great new food spot in the north end of downtown London, Ontario. It’s on a side street near the SE corner of Oxford and Richmond and it’s in an old house. The service was prompt and very friendly and the food was delicious.
I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on the freshest, lightest focaccia bread. The sandwich was so substantial I don’t think I’d have had room for any of the offered fries, soup or salad that you can add to any sandwich. It was also nicely spicy without being too hot. My friend had the yam fries with a burger. I tried the fries and they were nice and crispy. They didn’t have a decaf coffee so I ordered the black cherry cane sugar soda and it was very nice, not too sweet and not too carbonated.
They’re open from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm every day except for Sunday and Monday when they close at 3:00 pm. They’ll soon be opening for brunch as well. Their website has just been updated and all the photos look great. I know I’ll be back to try some more menu items out, especially the lamb. The salads look good too.
There is metered parking available on both sides of the street. We parked at a meter in front of the restaurant and it must have been hungry too as it ate our money. I phoned the number on the meter to let them know the meter was broken and they assured me I wouldn’t get a parking ticket since I had called. A little while later there was a city truck out front. Not only did he repair the meter, he also gave us an extra two hours on the clock. Now that’s service, City of London!
