Reasons for trip

White horse farm cowslip barn. A regrettable and dreadful experience. I feel I must share my experience with fellow travellers who have pets Like many others before going somewhere new we looked at what others had to say about the above establishment and all seemed very good, We arrived on a very hot day and after a long journey naturally we wanted to let our pets out to our complete surprise we were informed by the proprietor that our pets should stay in the car while he showed us (cowslip barn ) as it was hot and we had to leave our vehicle on the public road I was not prepared to leave my pets unattended in a hot car so my partner went with the proprietor, the journey to our accommodation was through deep gravel and over very old steps which was very strenuous carrying luggage etc no offer of help was forthcoming, any one with mobility problems would find this very difficult the parking is limited and definitely not (safe and ample) which is what is stated on the website our barn was in my opinion had not been cleaned properly as we found animal hair and dust under furnishings the bathroom had a nauseous smell throughout our stay which as it was next to the bedroom created further problems we had a problem with wasps entering the barn through the floor which despite me asking the proprietor to investigate it was never fully resolved I cut my head trying to kill them and needed the first aid box and found that the entire contents were out of date by years meaning that nothing in the box would be sterile, The free internet was poor as it would frequently drop out in the middle of something and despite us having three devices on the 3 main mobile providers no signal could be obtained which as there is no landline phone in the barn could cause problems if you have a medical or fire emergency, there is little in the way of privacy as all the windows are overlooked with the exception of the patio doors which open out onto the so called enclosed garden which is very small and not adequate to exercise your pets we were informed by the proprietor that we had to go out of the complex to walk our dogs which is down a narrow public road, There is no washing machine in the barn and no comments book for travellers to write about there stay and no information book either on how or what to do in an emergency etc, Obviously I attempted to raise these issues which were meet with unwanted condescending rudeness of a level that I have never experienced in many years of travel. In conclusion I feel that this establishment is not worth the premium price that is charged and that the website and pictures are mis leading please don’t be fooled by the lemon drizzle cake and free wine also I feel that pets seem to be a hindrance rather than wanted at this establishment both us and our pets were under constant observation by the proprietor who seemed to always be around reminding you of the location of the dog waste bin i would advise looking on google earth to see how condensed the buildings are obviously hindsight would be great but I would not recommend this establishment and I would not recommend it as pet friendly i would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
