Reasons for trip

The Westmark was our accommodation in Anchorage prior to moving on to Denali National Park and then on to a Holland America cruise. Our suite (818) had a comfortable Kingsize bed and large lounge area. It was well equipped with coffee maker, hairdryer, TVs, and an over bath shower. Nice bathroom products and quality linen complimented the spacious surroundings. Much of the decor is dark and possibly a little dated from a fashion perspective but is well maintained and clean. The room also had a patio door which led to a small balcony, sadly overlooking the car park.
The breakfast area has a hot or continental buffet service, plus an a la carte service after 7:30am. On our first day we had eggs Benedict from the a la carte (very nice) and used the buffet the following day. Note that on the day of departure the restaurant cannot accommodate all the leaving passengers at the same time, so there may be a wait for your table, leave plenty of time for Breakfast.

All the staff, especially the on site Holland America team, were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a good position in Downtown Anchorage with shops, visitor centre (tours and courtesy shuttles leave from here) and the sea walk all within comfortable walking distance. The Glacier Brewhouse is directly opposite the hotel.
