Wentworth Woodhouse in South Yorkshire has the largest frontage of any stately home in Europe and is said to be the inspiration for Pemberley in “Pride and Prejudice”. The roof is currently being replaced so National Trust are conducting roof tours which last around one hour.
There is a lift to get to the top and the whole tour is accessible by anyone using a wheelchair.
The tour was fascinating and fun too. There is a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside.
Afterwards I can recommend the tea rooms inside the house. You do not have to pay to enter the house in order to use the tea rooms.
