I discovered this lovely Country Hotel on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, Nant Yr Odyn Hotel which is near a main road off a lane and convenient for travel on the main bus routes for those who choose public transport.
This Country Hotel is managed by a married couple who have many long term return clients because of their easy-going welcome and friendly service and genuine interest in getting to know people. They have a Servant’s heart to serve and have trained their staff to have the same standard of careful service for their clients.
The hotel is built on two levels. The bar and reception with meeting rooms and dining rooms are on the main floor building. Single terraced Cottages are in a single level building adjoining the main hotel and car park.
This hotel offers traditional rooms and a candlelit restaurant and lounge and bar where you can come before dinner and have a quiet drink and get to know your fellow guests. The kitchen staff will cater to vegetarian or special diets if you request soya milk or lactose free milk be stocked for your meals. I rate the service 5 out of 5 of the waitresses who are very attentive and helpful and friendly. The bar is well-stocked and they even stock very good brand non-alcoholic beers and wines It is just 15 minutes’ drive from Bangor, there is free parking and free Wi-Fi.
There is also a Sunroom Conservatory with outdoor seating to enjoy the garden which is ideal for an after dinner drink, or to watch the evening sunset and also for a cloudy or rainy day if you want to read or paint.
The hotel is highly rated on Booking.com. Couples return for holidays, bank holidays, Valentine’s Day, Easter break and Mothering Sunday or Father’s Day with their families. It has been rated a 9.0 for overall services.
The cosy rooms at Nant-Yr – Odyn Country Hotel & Restaurant Ltd feature an en-suite bathroom and tea and coffee facilities. Rooms also have ample work space, and many have views of the Snowdonia Mountains and Malltraeth Marshes.
Set in an 18th-century converted farmhouse, the Anglesey Restaurant serves a traditional Welsh menu using local produce, and features original exposed beams. The charming bar offers comfortable seating and a selection of beverages.
Just 20 minutes’ drive from Holyhead Ferry Terminal, Nant Yr Odyn is 450 yards from the A55 Holyhead-Chester Euroroute. Snowdonia National Park can also be reached in 20 minutes and the famous Llanfairpwllgwyngyll is a 10-minute drive away.
