Reasons for trip

I receive a weekly e-mail about new restaurant opportunities and offers in London from “Hot Dinners”:http://www.hot-dinners.com/ and last week, noticed an “offer”:http://hot-dinners.com/Offers/Hot-Dinners-Restaurant-Offers/enjoy-50-off-the-menu-at-new-look-sw1-pub-walkers-of-whitehall of ‘50% off food’ in the new look “Walkers of Whitehall”:http://walkersofwhitehall.co.uk/ – one of my lunch time haunts with a working friend.

All we needed to do to qualify for the offer was book a table and quote Hot Dinners. Having agreed a date when ‘Working Friend’ could manage an extended lunch, we met at noon.

I’m not sure what I can add to my previous “review”:http://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/restaurant/166127-review-walkers-of-whitehall as on reading it, I found we’d exactly the same thing – even the same wine and pudding.

My fish and chips were delightful with crisp golden batter. However, the cheeseburger was served very rare (without asking) and Working Friend struggled with it a bit – personally I’d have been happy with it, but if I’d been him I would have asked for it to be cooked a little more – but that’s men for you!

As before, the shared chocolate pudding was divine although to be fair, because Working Friend had eaten so little of the cheeseburger, I felt obliged to let him eat the lions share..

So, nearly the same experience, although this time with 50% off the food – my fish and chips came in at a very reasonable £5.75. I have to say, I didn’t notice any difference in the décor!

I did take a photo of my fish and chips – the only difference this time, is that the peas were served on the plate and not in a small dish.

If you’re in the area, the offer extends to 6 November.
