We enjoyed travelling premium economy on Virgin Atlantic from Gatwick to St Lucia this past October. Attendants were pleasant, food and drink was great, seats very comfy, and a good. Variety on the entertainment program. The only drawback was that we couldn’t sit together, we had to sit one in front of the other. Virgin’s loyalty program allows seat selection up to 331 days in advance and we only had about 120 days and already most premium economy seats were taken, just singles left. We are planning to go to Antigua next October but cannot book premier economy seats because the airline has problems with their fleet and don’t know what plane they will use and what seats will be available.
Both my husband and I have mobility issues and have to use passenger assistance which works well when there is a jetway but if steps are required we need the “air ambulance lift truck” which is awkward, but this is not the fault of the airline.
