First flights with Virgin Atlantic. We left and arrived on time with no incidents so I suppose I shoud not complain as the journey is the main thing. However, what rankles is their inability to listen or realise the illogical attitude that they have!
There is a vegetarian option available as part of the menu. They gave out the menus to us even though we had pre-ordered. As I had ordered a veggie meal and the veggie meal on the menu I was given was something I was looking forward to I was really disappointed when I received something different, which I did not like.
Apparently they do not guarantee the availability of this, so if you want a veggie meal you have to pre-order one. I ordered the Lacto / Ovo which I thought meant was normal veggie because according to their website it may contain milk / dairy / eggs. However when I received it, it was the vegan type option. I was told “This is to suit your dietary requirements” and I said that was not what the website said. This was something I did not like and even worse when they came around with afternoon tea and we missed out on the scones and cream! The cabin crew were very nice and did their best to accommodate this fussy lady, but I did go rather hungry. Why on earth do they not allow you to pre-order a normal veggie meal? I was told on the return journey to let the cabin staff know when I got on board so they could save me the veggie meal! Surely the company could manage this??? So I am really not impressed with their inflexible attitude. The other thing is maybe not the fault of Virgin, but the airport layout, but whilst waiting for the plane having gone through check-in you are corralled into an area where there are no toilet facilities and not enough room for everyone to sit down.
