We stayed here for a week in late May 2015 and would highly recommend it for a relaxing break in the lovely fishing village of Cavtat, near Dubrovnik in southern Croatia.
We had a superior room which overlooked the bay with its yachts, small fishing boats and excursion boats which take visitors by 30 minute water bus service to Dubrovnik or to other islands in the vicinity. Our room had a large terrace which we shared with the adjoining room, although in actual fact most of the time the large terrace, which had 4 tables and chairs and a couple of loungers, was for our use as our neighbours didn’t use it. The terrace also overlooked the Restaurant Dalmacija opposite the quiet and fairly narrow road which led to the bay. Restaurant Dalmacija is where we ate our evening meal as part of our half board option; there were plenty of choices and excellent waiter service. Drinks were very cheap, as our drinks bill for the week (7 evening meals) only came to the equivalent of £60 (we found Croatia a good holiday destination for the budget conscious, as prices in Croatian Kuna were much cheaper than the neighbouring Montenegro where we had to use the Euro).
The staff in the hotel couldn’t do enough for us and were very helpful, booking trips for us and providing all the information we needed on places to visit and places within Cavtat, including the lovely walk around the bay which became a favourite of ours. The front of the bay was littered with cafes and restaurants where you could sit and people-watch all day and was a lovely short walk at night too after dinner.
Breakfast was a choice of hot (English type) options, sausages, bacon, eggs cooked any way you could name, with cold smoked meats and cheeses, a large plate of fruit, breads, jams, chocolate or hazelnut spreads, all lovingly served by the regular waitress, who once again couldn’t do enough for us.
All in all, a wonderful holiday we would love to repeat. Cavtat is a very safe place and I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to other travellers. As far as I know, however, there are no ground floor bedrooms and no lift.
