Steven the owner found the site on a low hill and designed and built the Villa as a personal dream, carefully planning the the individual rooms and sparing no expense on facilities and fittings. Poised between the hills and the sea with 360 views, sunrises and sunsets were a particular delight. Although Lefkada has a lot to offer in term of places to visit the attractions of lounging around by the pool and hot tub competed with the desire to explore. It is 400 metres to the village taverna which served up delightful authentic local dishes and on friday nights two of the most talented musicians ever delivering hours of greek music inspiring locals and visitors to dancing and even plate smashing. Nidri is a 5 minute drive, when we were there the season was winding down and shopowners and restauranteurs were relaxing and chatting. At the height of the season it will be a lot more hectic. Everything you need is there the shops, services, bars, tavernas and banks. A charming young lady provided the speediest fussfree currency exchange and at a better rate than in the UK. This is a seaside resort with the Ionian sea lapping gently on the beach. It is also a popular base for yacht fans ,fishermen and the ferry to Meganissi so there is always something on the move. Our hosts at the VillaOctavius Steven and Monica organised a trip around the islands stopping on a remote beach for a swim, some snorkelling and a beautiful barbecue, then on to the island of Skorpios for another swimming stop. For our last night at the at the Villa we invited our hosts to join us for an evening meal on the terrace delivered from our favourite restaurant. It was a delightful end to our holiday watching the moonlight shining on the silver sea between the islands.
