Villa Elsa has three apartments, one large one on the first floor and two smaller on ground floor. We stayed in the top apt and one of the ground floor apartments. As we didn't need the additional apt, we didn't have to pay for it which was an advantage. The villa is very comfortably furnished with ample shower and toilet facilites and all linen provided. There are barbecues and good parking available in the garden. The villa is in a quiet cul-de-sac so traffic is not an issue. The local and excellent supermarket is 4 mins drive or 10 mins walk on the back lane. The views from the terraces are fabulous – you look over the garden and olive orchard down to the sparkling sea with views of the large island of Korcula and other islands. The mountains climb up behind the villa, with plenty of footpaths to explore – all with wonderful views. Orebic is in a beautiful conservation area on the Peljesac peninsula. It is two hours drive north from Dubrovnik airport (an overnight stay in the historic walled city is recommended at one end of the holiday). It is a stunning drive up the coast particularly when the sun is setting. There is a nearby sandy beach (15 mins walk) with very safe swimming. The walk along the promenade is just so enjoyable – there is a lovely breeze, flowers in the gardens of stunning old stone houses, nothing is spoilt yet by the ravages of commercial tourism. From the harbour, ferries can be taken to different islands – Korcula has a 'mini Dubrovnik' walled city of its own. There are many different restaurants and cafes to choose from, delicious local icecream to sample and, for anyone interested in watersports, the whole range to choose from. It is a very popular coastline for wind and kite surfing – interesting to watch. We think this is a lovely place to visit at any time, particularly out of season in early summer and in autumn, when it is warm and there are so many wild and cultivated flowers in bloom. We enjoyed our stay in villa Elsa tremendously and would strongly recommend the area.
