For our first (but hopefully not last!) visit to Madeira we chose this excellent hotel, on a half-board basis. The food at both breakfast and in the evening buffet is really copious and you don't need much for lunch! Vidamar is near several shops, a good bus route and is only a 20 minute or so walk from the centre of Funchal. The service and all staff are friendly and efficient.
