The theme for the popular Liverpool River of Light event 2022 was “Unexpected Twist”. This was to focus on the World Gymnastics Championships which were taking place at the same time in the city.

The illuminated gallery was spread out in a 2-kilometre route. There were ten pieces of artwork featuring light and sound from local, national and international artists. I enjoyed viewing the event, but admit to not seeing it all as in previous years due to incresed mobility problems, but nevertheless, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. A lovely experience.

If you are planning on visiting Liverpool in the future, I recommend coming in October to see this free light show.
