Although entry is by timed ticket, there is still quite a long wait to enter (about 30 minutes). The displays are very well prepared with interesting videos and wall boards. The exhibits are displayed in glass cases, a few pieces in each case and you have to wait a few minutes at each display to get to the front. There is plenty to read while waiting but children would most likely get very bored. The exhibit has many amazing pieces but very few of the gold pieces which came over in the 1970s. It takes about 2 hours to walk through the exhibits and it did feel crowded, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
