Upon arrival at Trigony House both myself and my husband were quite taken aback with the beautiful well kept gardens. Once inside the hotel we were very impressed with the whole ambience reflecting of what was once a shooting lodge for Closeburn Castle. Our room looked out onto the pretty rear gardens, on which you can have afternoon tea on the patio, or pre dinner drinks!. Tea and coffee were provided in our room with lovely homemade shortbread biscuits, the bed was a wonderful size and very comfy, bathroom was also very clean and spacious with lashings of hot water and wonderful handmade local toiletries. Both breakfast and evening meals were superb using local organic ingredients and wonderfully presented, the only gripe we did have was that a bottle of house wine was a little steep at £36 a bottle!. The staff at Trigony were very polite and friendly but also professionally formal. Plenty of places to visit, from castles, coastal drives and beautiful walks, would we go back again…YES. Trigony House Hotel is a very dog friendly hotel, a must for all dog lovers!
