We received a very warm welcome from the receptionist who was very friendly (enquiring if we had enjoyed a good journey etc)and took the trouble to explain about the dining facilities without us having to ask.
We chose this Travelodge as it was only 7 miles away from the relatives we were visiting who live near Nottingham. It was only £43.00 for a midweek night stay which was cheap enough but the bonus was that I had an email code for £10 off! Bargain or what!
The room was a good size, clean and comfortable with a flatscreen TV. Bathroom appeared to be newly renovated and had a spacious walk in shower. Large bath towels were a welcome change from some of the “tea towel” sized ones that are often provided. Tea/coffee making facilities were available as was a decent hairdryer. Although the room was on the ground floor near a fairly busy road and overlooking the large car park we had no problem with noise so had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was on offer in the adjoining Toby Carvery which had recently had a makeover. Had lots of cosy areas to sit with some “open” fires here and there. Breakfast was £5.95 for a Full English (self service buffet), toast and preserves plus unlimited tea and coffee. No orange juice or cereal on offer though.
This Travelodge is perfect for easy access to Nottingham and Derby. It’s also close to the Wollaton Deer park which sadly we did not have time to visit.
On leaving we were asked if everything was ok during our short stay which was a nice touch – the team at this Travelodge seemed genuinely friendly which does makes a difference even if you are only staying for one night! Probably the best service we have received from a Travelodge and would not hesitate to stay there again even if it wasn’t a bargain price!
