In the Premier Inn v Travelodge debate, I’d always chose the former for a huge number of reasons. Except that is in Chichester, where the Travelodge easily won because of its brilliant location right in the middle of town.

After being unprepared when I had to stay in the “Travelodge Manchester Central”:http://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/accommodation/151085-review-travelodge-manchester-central, I reluctantly paid £10 for a 12 noon check in and when checking in, asked for a hair dryer rather than waiting until I was under the shower before realising I needed to.

We were staying one night to meet up with friends who are planning on moving back from Cefalu in Sicily to Chichester. The hotel was a short easily navigable walk from the train station.

Check in was straightforward as I’d booked and paid online to secure the cheapest rate.

On turning right out of the hotel, we found it is literally (a) across the road from a JD Wetherspoon, The Dolphin and Anchor, and (b) a two minute walk from The Market Cross, Cathedral, and shops.

Our room was fine and a good size and bearing this in mind, we couldn’t understand why the bathroom was so tiny. Everything was clean, tidy and worked which for £55 seemed a good deal especially bearing in mind the location. Whilst I may still not be converted to Travelodge, on this particular occasion it fitted the bill perfectly.
