Reasons for trip

What could be nicer than ice-skating in front of the well lit Tower of London on a winter evening? Drinking hot chocolate and watching everyone else skate maybe? It is a lovely Chrismassy atmosphere there and everyone seemed to be having lots of fun. The ice can get very wet but staff were sweeping of the excess water and nobody seemed to mind if they fell over. We paid £8.50 per ticket which seemed a reasonable price and family tickets were a little cheaper. The bookings were all running late so do allow plenty of time and you get half an hour skating for your money. Good Christmas fun just don`t fall over. If you visit during the day you can also pay a bit more and go into the Tower itself. See the Crown Jewels gleaming in the strongroom or see the tiny suits of armour and imagine the ghosts walking the battlements. Feel the cold shiver as you stand near traitors gate or imagine losing your head on the block. The beefeater guides will fill you with spooky tales and history. It really is worth a visit and if you have never been plan a visit to the Tower on your next trip to London.
